About Emojigo

The world's most advanced emoji search engine

Our Story

It all started with a simple love for emojis. 💕

We believe emojis are more than just cute icons – they're a universal language that transcends borders, cultures, and languages. In a world where digital communication dominates, emojis help us express emotions, add personality to our messages, and connect with each other on a deeper level.

💡 Why We Built Emojigo

Have you ever spent minutes scrolling through endless emoji options, trying to find the perfect one? We did too. That frustration sparked an idea: what if finding emojis was as easy as typing a few words? That's how Emojigo was born – powered by AI, designed for humans.

The Origins of Emojis

Emojis have a rich history that spans decades. We owe today's emoji culture to two visionary pioneers.

😊

Harvey Ball — The Father of the Smiley

In 1963, American graphic designer Harvey Ball created the iconic yellow smiley face for an insurance company's morale campaign. What started as a simple design became one of the most recognized symbols in the world — and the spiritual ancestor of every emoji we use today.

📱

Shigetaka Kurita — The Creator of Emojis

In 1999, Japanese artist Shigetaka Kurita designed the first set of 176 emojis for NTT DoCoMo's mobile internet platform. Inspired by manga, kanji, and street signs, these 12×12 pixel icons revolutionized digital communication. His work laid the foundation for the Unicode emoji standard we know today.

Emojigo honors the legacy of these pioneers. Without their creativity and vision, the universal emoji language that connects billions of people would not exist. 🙏
